About the author
Dr Robert Docters Van Leeuwen
The author, Dr Robert Docters van Leeuwen, graduated in chemistry Cum Laude and attained a PhD in social sciences. He has a keen interest in yoga, psychology, information theory, astronomy, Zen, metaphysics, the I Ching, Tarot and history. For decennia, he researched links between mind, spirit and matter as they present themselves in synchronicities, intuition, and in I Ching, Tarot, and Celtic-Runic consultations.
Focused on understanding consciousness he studied psychologists, philosophers and metaphysicists such as Bucke, Jung, Maslow, Sheldrake, Dabrowski, Wilber, Grof, Goswami, Gebser, Bohm and Peat. He combined this research with the correlation of the archetypes in the I Ching, Tarot and Celtic Trees. Led by Zen insights, the Vedas, Quantum Physics, Holography, Implicate and Explicate Order theory, Akashic Field theory and Enlightenment records, he combined the mind’s movements between levels of consciousness into an overarching, psycho-dynamic consciousness model.
Having already written many books Rob decided to share his insights in a three-part novel. The story is set in Vancouver where he had the opportunity to live and work by means of a Canada Council Fellowship. It follows a female psychologist who after surviving a disastrous car accident strives to climb out of her deep pit of sorrows. Supported by helpers, Zen meditation, study and music, she gradually comes to an understanding of why this accident had to become part of her life. Persistent willpower drives her to deal with her situation and she has an Enlightenment experience. Grasping opportunities as they appear she is able to create a promising new life.
